Bachelor of Arts

Melbourne Model Graduate Professional Degrees

From 2008, the University will introduce a range of new graduate professional degrees which qualify students for professional registration and employment and provide a pathway to higher research degrees. From 2008-2012 at least 50% of designated places in each course will be offered as Commonwealth supported places.

Students enrolling in the University's graduate professional degrees will have completed a suitable undergraduate degree at Melbourne or another recognised university. The graduate programs will offer highly competitive and specialised professional graduate education in a range of disciplines.

The advantages of graduate professional education are many. Studying in a graduate cohort offers the opportunity to gain a mature and detailed understanding of the relevant subject areas before committing to a particular profession, as well as the chance to participate in a rigorous and highly-specialised learning experience.

Students will benefit from the University's strong links to industry, community and professional bodies with access to internships, mentor programs and career support services. Ultimately, you will benefit from the greater employability and the higher remuneration which comes from a graduate qualification.

Completion of the new generation Bachelor of Arts will provide a pathway to a range of graduate professional programs:

Applicants seeking entry into a graduate professional degree may be eligible for Graduate Access Melbourne and/or the guaranteed entry pathway.
