Bachelor of Arts entry requirements
The Bachelor of Arts is the University of Melbourne’s most established course, and over 150 years has become one of Australia’s most popular courses. Admission to the course is competitive and below are the entry requirements.

|TCFS prerequisite subjects||A minimum of 50 is required in EAP and prerequisite subjects unless otherwise specified. The score is calculated using the best four subjects excluding EAP. Maths 1 is included in the best four score for Commerce; and English and History of Ideas are included for Arts.|

3 Admission is guaranteed to international students holding this qualification who achieve this score. You must also satisfy prerequisites and English language requirements, and places must be available in the course at the time of acceptance.
4 Students who wish to pursue a major in Economics through the Bachelor of Arts degree are required to meet the maths prerequisites as determined by the Faculty of Business and Economics. Students admitted to the Bachelor of Arts who do not meet these prerequisites will not be able to undertake a major in Economics.
5 For students with English as their second language a pass in English B at the required level will be accepted as satisfying the English prerequisite. Except where specified, IB subjects must be passed to at least Grade 4 Standard or Higher Level. Mathematical Studies is not deemed equivalent to VCE Mathematical Methods.
6 Accepted GCE AS and A Level English subjects are: General Paper, General Studies, English Language and Literature, English Literature, English Language. Singapore A Level subject Knowledge and Enquiry (H2) is also accepted. A grade of at least C is required to meet the University’s English language requirements.
